TFOM: THE FIRST OF MANY

Welcome to The First of Many (TFOM)

A platform for presence. A movement for more. Built to honor the people behind the practice.

A cultural platform and creative agency centering care, legacy, and storytelling.

The First of Many (TFOM) is where creativity meets community and storytelling becomes a tool for transformation. We build platforms that uplift Baltimore's  artists, creatives, cultural workers, and visionaries—amplifying not just what they create, but why they create.

Founded by Jasmine Washington in 2024, TFOM began as a question: What would it look like to be the FIRST—and not the last?  What started as an idea became a project, then a movement, and now, a brand rooted in joy, representation, and long-term impact.

We invest in stories that shape culture and build infrastructure that sustains the people behind the work.
This is a space for reflection, connection, and radical imagination—where being THE FIRST OF MANY is just the beginning.

Episode 004 — Reminisce Over You Artist Talk with Maurice Scarlett III (ms3) [and Ringo Lisko] in conversation with our Founder, Jasmine Washington

Tune In

From Maurice: Reminisce Over You is a visual love letter to the formative years of my youth, where style, sound, and screen blurred into identity. This solo exhibition dives into the cultural artifacts that shaped my adolescence—streetwear, video games, and the energy of the late 90s/ early 2000s. Through a series of traditional paintings, I reflect on the textures of growing up: late nights lit by the blue glow of a PlayStation screen, the layered codes of dress that defined belonging, and the rhythm of a time when creative expression was survival.

Each piece captures moments of memory and influence, told through dynamic figures, nostalgic palettes, and emotionally rich compositions. This show is about more than looking back—it’s about honoring the foundations of my visual language, and inviting viewers to reflect on their own personal archives."

Reminisce Over You was on view from July 4th - July 31st at Spare Room Gallery in Bolton Hill. SRG was founded by artist Ringo Lisko while studying at MICA. This gallery was born out of a desire to create space for artists to show their work, connect, and be in community.

This episode was recorded at Spare Room Gallery on Friday July 25th, 2025
